A paddle/hike combination is one of the most intimate and personal ways to experience Alaska's unique sea and mountain panorama. This is a multi sport endeavor people find particularly complimentary. There is perhaps no better situated place for linking up water trails with mountain trail heads than in the vicinity of our yak & trek base camp. Our central location allows us to offer a large variety of options to all abilities.
$185pp GLACIER HIKE:
This is an all day activity that combines one of our half day sea kayak trips with an independent hike to a scenic glacier. The moderate trail is well marked and normally in excellent condition. The price includes the guided kayaking,the water taxi from Homer to our base camp,the water taxi from our base camp to the glacier trail head and then the return to Homer following your hike.

Following the paddling,get picked up at St.Augustine's dock by"Bay Roamers Water Taxi"to be transported to the glacier hike trail head where you will be on an independent hike on a scenic and well marked trail that leads up to a stunning vista of the lake and glacier."Bay Roamers"will return for you following your hike to deliver you to the celebrated "Saltry Restaurant"in Halibut Cove where you can stroll between boardwalk art galleries and reflect upon your day over an exceptional meal in a restaurant with extraordinary ambiance. Our regular guided full day trip includes a couple of great options for doing short stretch hikes that lead up and over beautiful sea cliffs that offer expansive views over the water to the snow capped mountains beyond. The emphasis is mainly on the kayaking,however the optional stretch hikes are a great compliment to a full day on the water.

Do the Center's tide pooling and forest hike with one of their naturalist guides in the morning and one of our guided half day trips in the afternoon. This trip will be of particular interest to those that appreciate an interpretive natural history tour.
